ABOUT
Hi everybody. I’m a singer/guitarist/songwriter. I’ve been playing the Maryland, DC, Virginia area since I was a teenager and currently play about 70 shows a year. I perform solo and also with my good friend Eric Wolf (lead guitar) in the Mike Mead & Eric Wolf Duo. My biggest inspirations come from the 70’s era of music from artists like Elton John to Kiss to Led Zeppelin. I began gigging locally when I was 16 years old and played in many projects before becoming the front man of Frankie and the Actions with my good friend Frankie Clarke. My journey with music through the years has taken me so many places with great memories and meeting new people.
Currently, I’m doing my regular solo acoustic show. In addition to that, Eric Wolf (lead guitar) and I perform regularly as Mike Mead/Eric Wolf Duo.
Currently, I am looking to fill the drummer spot in the MIKE MEAD BAND !

Wow, four months into the new year already. Time waits for no man, indeed.
The latest on my health situation is actually good news.
I finally had my spinal stenosis surgeries. Yes, TWO surgeries in one week. First one was on Monday, March 31st, the second one was on Thursday, April 3rd. I was released from Inova, Alexandria Hospital on Friday the 4th. Needless to say, I was completely wiped out, drugged up, sore, uncomfortable the whole weekend. I saw all the great video and pictures from The REX. I most certainly would have been there…
Anyway, I’m home now, in a brace for another month. Going out of my mind with being limited in my movements etc. My first follow up appointment is April 22nd. Gigs start back up in the second half of May.
Let me just say this… I was very apprehensive about the surgery. Fucking scared, even. Now that it’s behind me and I’m healing up, THE PAIN IN MY LEGS IS GONE. Not only that, They ended up doing a much smaller, minimally invasive surgery on the second phase, to stabilize my spine. Good news on that one. The weight off my mind is tremendous.
I’m looking forward to healing up on schedule and getting back to it !
