ABOUT
Hi everybody. I’m a singer/guitarist/songwriter. I’ve been playing the Maryland, DC, Virginia area since I was a teenager and currently play about 70 shows a year. I perform solo, with my good friend Eric Wolf (lead guitar) in the Mike Mead & Eric Wolf Duo and The MIKE MEAD BAND. My biggest inspirations come from the 70’s era of music from artists like Elton John to Kiss to Led Zeppelin. I began gigging locally when I was 16 years old and played in many projects before becoming the front man of Frankie and the Actions with my good friend Frankie Clarke. My journey with music through the years has taken me so many places with great memories and meeting new people.
Currently, I’m doing my regular solo acoustic show. In addition to that, Eric Wolf (lead guitar) and I perform regularly as Mike Mead/Eric Wolf Duo.

Ya know what, Chicken butt ? Guess who ? Frank Purdue ! The older I get, the more I realize that more of the same thing can sometimes be good. You know the old saying “if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting” ? Well, thank goodness !
New year, and quite literally a new beginning for me personally. Still off the booze (ho hum, old news) but trying to really get a grip on my wellness, flexibility and stamina. Staying faithful to my morning exercise at least 4-5 times a week, really 5.
I’m missing mom, of course, but I know she would want me to keep pushing on. So, that’s what I’m doing. Come check out the band if you can this year. We’re having fun playing some good ole’ album rock from our youth. The duo is steady as she goes and my solo performances are what drive my music world !
My new song, “The Mess”, has it’s final arrangement set. Thank you David Cornwell. I’m just rehearsing my actual guitar part that I’m going to play in the studio and finalizing the lyrics. I mean, they’re done, but a few last minute tweaks never hurt nobody.
